I've been Tagged

Yup! I've been Tagged! So here it goes:
6 Weird Things About Me:
1. When I'm in deep concentration or nervous, I rub my fingers together. It kind of looks like I'm playing the piano in the air.
2. I always try to use adages and I always screw them up. For instance, instead of saying "You're skating on thin ice" I say "You're tip-toeing on thin ice"
My family finds this quite hilarious! I do this often!
3. I can do the Mighty Princess Warrior Xena call better than the actual Xena! My family witnessed this with much embarrassment at Universal Studios.
4. I speak with a lot of slang. My friends say that I even email this way. Example: Big ol'honkin'
5. My house is always in the midst of being redecorated. I change colors on the walls, reupholster the furniture, make new curtains, etc, etc. all the time. It looks like a new house every time someone visits. It's a sickness.
6. No matter where I go, someone will strike up a conversation with me and tell me very personal things about themselves. Total strangers! This makes my family crazy when they are with me, but I always tell them that it doesn't cost anything to listen and sometimes people just need to be heard. I'm an excellent listener!

New Valentine Cupcake

Here's my newest little cupcake with the word LOVE and a cute little Silver Heart just in time for Valentine's Day! And check out that big ol' honkin' cherry on top! The cherry is covered with red glitter and clear glass glitter for extra sparkle.
I think the cupcake goes well with my art from Lisa Kaus and my antique typewriter that I got for Christmas. Oh, and it's all sitting on that new aqua cool hutch that I also got for Christmas. Aaahhhhhhh! Christmas was Good! If you're interested in having this cupcake for your very own, just go to my website where it will be for sale.

Later Gators!

More anthropologie knobs

Here are the other knobs I bought at Anthropologie the other day. I love this dusty pink color.
I put them on this antique dresser that is in my bedroom. At one time, I rented a space at an antique mall and I had this dresser for sale there. The dresser actually had different pink knobs that I had also purchased atAnthropologie. Then a horrible thing happened. I went to check on my space and the knobs were gone! Yep, someone stole all 6 knobs! I had had other things stolen there too, but this was too much! The amount of time it must have taken someone to actually unscrew all 6 knobs....well, I felt that the security just wasn't too great and I gave my notice and packed up. I just don't know how people live with themselves when they steal from others. They probably put those knobs on a dresser of their own and I just wonder when they look at them or use that dresser do they have any guilt? It just boggles my mind.

Anyway, I'm glad this dresser finally has new knobs again.

I Love Anthropologie

I love the Anthropologie store! I never look at the clothes, which my daughters say are to die for. I just look at all of the cool home stuff and I usually leave with a couple of new knobs...like the ones above. This store has the coolest knobs ever! I actually left the store with more than just a couple of knobs and I'll share those with you in a later post.
Don't they just look fabulous on this cabinet?! This cabinet needed special knobs, not just any knobs and well....that's what I say about all of my furniture and that's why I shop at Anthropologie. If you have one in your area, go and check it out and get yourself some cool knobs. You'll be glad you did.

Here I am

Here I am. Sorry to be gone for a little while. I've been very busy cleaning and organizing my studio. What a mess!!! I want a window added to my studio for more natural light and my hubby said he would put one in, but FIRST, I must get it cleaned up and organized. You see, he's very Type A and let's just say.....I am not. My mess makes him crazy. I do, however, keep my house very clean, but when it comes to my work area....well, I just seem to work better in a mess. I have a little sign that hangs in my studio that a friend I used to work with gave to me and it reads: Creative People are Rarely Tidy. So True, except in the rest of the house! I like a clean house.
Anyway, I've also been really busy with some medical stuff that's happening in our household right now. Nothing too serious, but surgery is in the near future. Bummer!
So, here's a simple mosaic step that I'm sharing with you as I finally grouted it today. I finished the mosaic on this step a couple of months ago and am just finally getting around to finishing it! This mosaic came about as an unplanned project. I was finishing up another project and had a lot of left over mortar and didn't want to waste it, so I grabbed some scrap tile and glass marbles and covered this step. The step is in my flowers next to the vegetable garden. Did I mention that I love to garden? Well, I do and probably more than I like to mosaic! Maybe my next job will be as a Master Gardener...... hmmm

Updated hutch with cool paper

Buttons now added..........
So here's that cool scrapbook paper that I told you about in an earlier post. I absolutely love these colors. My hutch is now transformed into something a little less boring and is a little more spectacular. I also used paper from an old music book for the top scallop. The scrapbook paper was not tall enough to cover the entire space and that's why I made the scallop, plus it just adds a little more interest. I may also add buttons or some kind of cool ribbon on top of that. I'm looking for something that will be just right.

Well, back to work for me. I have many plans for the 2007 new year and I'm wishing you and yours a very HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
