HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Feet!! Two sisters picked out the same shoes. It's funny....sometimes they are nothing alike (see tattoo!) and sometimes they are more alike than they'd like to admit.

Three of the Four Sisters! We wish you a very Happy Holiday from our Happy Home!

By the way, the middle sister is the one with the tattoo!

Time is ticking and my holiday duties are not complete. Today I must bake treats for my neighbors and friends.....and one fast baker I must be! I must also fit in a doctor's appointment and meeting with friends at 5 and picking up daughter #2 from airport at 10:30. Another party tomorrow evening at my husband's boss's house and I haven't yet shopped for groceries for our big Christmas Eve Seafood Fest. Well, if I wasn't always running around like a chicken with my head cut off, everyone who knows me would wonder what was wrong with me. :-) Old habits die hard. I'm off! (in more ways than one) :-)

Early Christmas Present

So, since I had to drive to central Phoenix yesterday to deliver the mosaic mirror, I thought that I should treat myself and stop in at some of my favorite places. One of my favorite junk places is Q-Cumbers....and it is junky!! Well, look what I came across. This beautiful aqua piece of furniture. I called my husband, who works just up the street, and said I found my Christmas present. Boy was he relieved! I make him crazy at Christmas time, because I always say that I don't need anything or I say just get me some junk. Cuz I like JUNK!!!!! :) I told him that there was no need to wrap it. I'll just pretend that it isn't there. (yeah, right)
Then, I stopped into one of the most beautiful boutiques in Phoenix called Melrose Vintage. I love this place!! It's pretty pricey, but ooooh the eye candy!! They have the most beautiful displays. I'm thinking about asking them if they would carry a few of my mosaic items. We'll see. Anyway, while I was there, I picked up these Wendy Addison glass glitter letters. I'm glad I did too, as they told me that they're being discontinued. So, if you want some, you'd better get out there and get them. I also picked up some beautiful scrapbook paper and I'll show you later what I'm doing with it. I got the idea from the boutique and it is FABULOUS!!! Well, time to get busy. I still have lots to do for the holidays. Take care!

Mosaic Mirror Finished

Here is the mosaic mirror that I've been working on. A client ordered it for her daughter's bathroom. Isn't it just lovely?!! These colors will go perfectly with the shower curtain that she purchased for the bathroom. The home that this mirror will be going to is absolutely "to die" for! The owners bought it awhile back and have been refurbishing it. When I visited, there was alot of construction work going on in the house, but you could already see how FABULOUS it is going to be.
I meant to post pictures earlier, but I've been busy Christmas shopping. Yep, I just started my Christmas shopping on Saturday. Yep, I can't believe it either!! (okay, yes I can.....this has happened more than once or twice before). I just get so caught up in creating stuff and the time just sneaks up on me. Then, my daughters will say "Mom, do you realize that Christmas is just 9 days away"? Yikes!!!! and Ka-Ching!!!! Boy did I drop the bucks $$$$! (Ouch!) I still have a few more things to pick up this week and hopefully I won't forget anything. I also need to pick up gifts for friends......I'll explain that one next time. Well, time to go, I'm trying to do laundry and I just realized that I'm out of Tide. (ugh) Bye! :) Michelle

More Holiday Decorations

So, I thought I'd share some more holiday decor with you, as I scramble to get the mosaic mirror done. Tsktsk, rush, rush!! Anyhow....I'm a big fan of Patience Brewster and her Krinkle's line. I first saw her, years ago, in MaryEngelbreit's Home Companion. I am a big fan of whimsy, so of course, I fell in LOVE with her creations. The Fairy Princess and the Poinsettia Girl are from her line. I'm also a big fan of Season's from Cannon Falls. They sell the wares of Wendy Addison, Nicole Sayer, Tracy Porter and many others. The snowman, bottle brushtrees, and the little red bird are from Season's and the little cream colored star is a Nicole Sayer. I just LOVE it ALL!!! So much FUN!!!
Well, I'd better get back to that mirror. I actually finished gluing it last night and now I need to grout it. Hopefully, I'll be able to share a picture of it tomorrow. It is adorable!
Until then,
Michelle

1st cupcake on it's way.....

Well, the first little cupcake is on it's way to a new home. I'll miss it, as I usually do with all of the goodies I send to other's homes. However, I do know that it will be well taken care of! :)
As soon as I have my mirror order taken care of, I'll be whipping up another batch of cupcakes. I found the cutest vintage pins at the flea market last week and I think I'll incorporate them into the new cupcakes. Until then, take care!! :)

Simple

Sometimes I like simple holiday decor. Just a few of the right pieces and you're done. I made the stockings from a vintage table cloth and vintage chenille beadspread. These stockings are just for decoration. The Real stockings (6 of them) will hang from the picket fence fireplace screen. We go totally overboard on filling the stockings. My kids (ages 14 to 22) even buy gifts for the stockings. I may make new stockings for this year, as they need to be bigger for all of the fun stuff that they get filled with. We have a Blast! :)
I made the Santa with his little chenille snow baby from vintage material last year. I really enjoy making holiday decor.....which is why I have too much! Oh well. And last but not least, Christmas decor would not be complete without Wendy Addison glitter stars.....Love them too!!!
Well, time to go grout the mosaic cupcakes. I will be posting the cupcakes I have done to my website tomorrow (Monday). So, make sure you take a looksie and get yourself a one-of-a-kind mosaic cupcake :-)
Take Care!!!!!!

My Christmas Tree

Here's my Christmas tree (okay, 1 of them). I'm using my grandmother's vintage poinsettia table cloth as a tree skirt. I Love pulling it out each year, as it floods me with wonderful memories of her. I miss her so! :(
Anyway, on a lighter note, I've been very busy making mosaic cupcakes today. Each one is very different and very FUN!!! I hope to have them for sale on the website in the next couple of days. When my husband came home from work last night, he said "mmmmm what's cooking?" I said "plaster cupcakes." You should have seen the look on his face....priceless! You'd think after being with me for more than 20 years, he'd expect this. What can I say, I've still got it! (tee, hee) :)

Flat Glass Marbles

I find that I'm becoming quite addicted to these flat glass marbles (that's what I call them anyway). I originally purchased them for use in my mosaics, but now I find myself putting them in different vessels throughout the house. Lots of color with just the right sparkle. Of course, I still use them in my mosaics, I just have to buy more of them now.
As I'm writing this, I am baking my first batch of plaster cupcakes. I'm hoping this will make them dry faster. I'm anxious to get started with my first Mosaic Cupcakes (Yay!)

I Love Pink Trees

I didn't think I was ever going to get this picture loaded...I am having major problems with blogger....maybe I should change to Typepad. I would love some input on this matter.
Anyway.............I've finally completed my Christmas decorating. I've decided that I have way too many Christmas decorations. I didn't even put it all out. I do love it all though!! I LOVE this little pink tree! I think I need a few more of them....and this is how I get too much stuff! :) It would be so much easier to put a bunch of little trees throughout the house instead of big ones. Anyway, I'll be sharing more Christmas decor over the next few days.....well, if I'm able to. Wish me luck on this blogger stuff.
Happy Holidays People!! :)

Holiday Buffet

Finally! A little piece of holiday decorating complete. I love how my newly decorated window fits in with my other decor. Everytime I think I'm tired of the aqua, pink, cream and red color combination, I find myself going right back to it and loving it all over again!
My living room is full of boxes of holiday decorations (what a mess!) waiting for me to pull them out and make some magic. I'm hoping to get this accomplished today, however, today is the last day of the Tempe Art Festival and I would like to spend a few hours checking it out. I guess I'd better get busy.....
Happy Decorating!

Lovely Window

This is how I get behind in what I'm supposed to be doing. I pulled out a Christmas box with good intentions of getting my holiday decorating started. As I started to move stuff around on my buffet, I looked at this window (which was on the buffet) and thought "This needs something". Then I started digging through my scraps of paper, got the modge podge out and created this Now lovely window. I am very pleased with it, however, I haven't started the holiday decorating and I have to meet some people in an hour. I'm going to try again when I get home.
